Of Drenched Clothes And Lonely Chair

October 7, 2008

lightning drew nothing but a glimpse

of your dreary face and shallow eyes

as you watch the wrath of the storm

carelessly aim upon you,

your drenched clothes,

and lonely chair.

you tried, yes you tried,

to seek shelter with your cardboard sheet

reminiscent of your last night’s sleep,

but it proved pathetic,

empty.

like your dreams

and tomorrows.

behold, the treason of man

against himself,

for the lesser glory of coins

…and the quest to eat;

to breathe,

BUT not to live.

  1. bagong post! 1st comment ulit yahoo!

  2. i’m not scared of death
    but i’m scared of dying…
sometimes though, trying to live where hope cannot be found, doesn’t the alternative sound more appealing?

  3. kaya pala lethalverses ka. so lethal nga. galing galing!

  4. hmmm.. that was awfully inspiring.. and sad..

grabe.. nabigatan ako.. ang hirap iexplain.. pag nagkita nalang tayo.. paalala mo saken..

  5. Me naalala ako sa post mo bigla…

  6. Grabe naman to, nakakalungkot… (kala mo naintindihan yung poem eh noh)

Pero nakakalungkot talaga siya… Isa lang masasabi ko siguro “Continue to live, for you still have alot of great things to show to the world”.

two words: surviving, and living. magkaparehong magkaiba.

  8. so galing ng pagkakasulat priceless.

  12. but sometimes they are the most blessed… come to think of it, all they have to do is just think of a way how to live in a day, unlike “us” we have so many things to reconsider.. they make things simpler.. “we”, complicate life. the way they live their lives may not be ideal, but sometimes i do envy them.. they know how to show appreciation to little things they receive. and “we” can not just get enough..

    another nice poem bye lv…

  13. reminiscent of your last night’s sleep,

    but it proved pathetic,

    empty.

    like your dreams

    and tomorrows.

    husay galing.

  14. Wow sher, may compassion! I like it.

  15. to BREATHE but NOT to LIVE…

but sometimes, even us exist to breathe but not really living. in life, we had choices… maybe, just maybe, they choose to be like that coz its the easy way out.

    i’m sorry if i’m a bit unfeeling…

  16. dinudugo nanaman ako sayo.

    pamparegla kita LV.

  17. i so love the neding… haaay… napapa sigh ako kapag iniisip isip ko yung linya!!!

  18. uhm, i don’t quite know if i understood it correctly or got the message that you’re trying to convey. haha. it’s awful to see them live that way. i’m hoping that people see them like the way they see a single peso on their palm.(ano daw?)
